I walked close to 15km yesterday and by the time I got here the sun had come out a lot (even though it was close to 5:30pm) and I was grateful for the shade and caves this beach provides. The water was a really nice temperature and I found some nice shells near these rocks.

Near this beach I came across a girl (she couldn’t have been much older than 12) who looked really upset. She had obviously just been in the water as her swimwear and hair was wet, and she was sitting curled up on a bench. The first time I walked past I didn’t approach her because I thought she looked angry, but when I passed her again she was noticeably crying. I approached her and asked her carefully if she was okay. She shook her head and started crying more. I asked her what was wrong and she said it was “family stuff”. I asked if her family was nearby and she nodded and pointed up a hill and said she needed time away from everyone. I said that was okay and asked if there was anything I could do. She said there wasn’t and that she would be okay and said she wanted to be alone. I felt kind of mean leaving her but I got the hint and didn’t want to annoy her, so I told her I hoped everything would be okay - she said thanks - and kept walking. When I walked back home later she had gone. I hope she’s okay.
