The Perks of Running A Fan Blog
So I just started making some gifs and was reminded of this, which happened on Friday:
I handed in my Geography report but realised two of the pages were the versions from an older document. Luckily my teacher said it was fine if I printed the recent pages off at school, so at lunch I went up to the staff room where she said she’d print them off from her computer. Standing at her desk, she asked for my USB. Now, my (only currently working) USB is primarily used for transferring gifs and videos from my school laptop (which has Photoshop = I use it for making gifs) to my normal laptop, which I use to upload the gifs, so it contains 90% gif-related files. The rest is an assortment of school assessment tasks.
I handed it to her - forgetting the tiny fact that 90% of the files on it were non-school-work-related, with odd one-word-and-a-number names which only serve to remind me the order they should be uploaded in. Subsequently, she opened it to see a screen full of words which didn’t make sense on first inspection. “Whoa! There’s a lot here! Tell me what [your geography report’s file] name is.” At this point she peered closer at the screen and took greater notice of the files of the documents, such as….
drugs1, drugs2, drugs3…… drugs10
bitter1, bitter2, bitter3…. bitter10
int1, int2, int3 …. int10
sleep1, sleep2, sleep3…. sleep10
(they didn’t come up as little icons, only their file names were listed)
and many, many video files starting with “The Verve” or “Richard Ashcroft”
This was her face:
